SecurityKit.com Keying Options Chart
Below are our three most popular keying options.
Please note, not every product will be available
with every option. Individual product listings
detail which keying options are available for
that product.

KEYED DIFFERENTLY
Standard (Keyed Differently) locks open with different keys. The key from one lock will not open a different lock. Used for single locks and kits or for multiple locks where users are geographically spread out. Examples are an individual with one lock or a company’s remote sales force.

KEYED ALIKE
Keyed Alike locks all open with the same key. Any key opens any lock. Useful where you have more than one lock or kit and don’t want to keep track of which key opens which lock or where multiple locks are in the primary control of an administrator. Examples are an individual with two laptops to protect and a computer lab with multiple lockdowns.

MASTER KEYED
Master Keyed locks and kits come with their own keys, which will not open any other lock, but there is a Master Key available which can open any of the locks in the set. This is useful where individual users need to be able to open their lock but not another user’s lock and where there is an administrator who needs to be able to open any of the locks. Example is an office where each employee has a company owned laptop.
